I really believe if you haven't "made it" until you get some 1 stars!Maria Geracihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02296473703226019932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17003017.post-40174015659557576122010-04-02T02:09:42.917-04:002010-04-02T02:09:42.917-04:00Oh, Maria...I'm sorry to hear about the negati...Oh, Maria...I'm sorry to hear about the negative review, although I agree that it means you got someone to respond strongly to your story--bravo on that! I really, really HATE it, though, when someone gives a bad review and doesn't bother to get the basic information right--like the book title or the author's name, for instance ;). That's just pure laziness. Hard to trust the opinion of anyone so careless, IMO.

I've gotten some 1-star reviews... The thing that helped me most was reading the Amazon reviews for Austen's Pride & Prejudice--seriously, there are some people who DESPISED that book! Yes, the masterpiece that is P&P, given 1-star ratings...unbelievable, yet true :). And we both enjoyed The Help--1,500 people may have loved it enough to give it 5 stars, but there were still a bunch of readers that hated it. So, try not to let that "dude" get to you!Marilyn Branthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05303846770348840645noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17003017.post-76223741099858077482010-03-31T11:45:53.357-04:002010-03-31T11:45:53.357-04:00Kristen, my book is shelved under general fiction,...Kristen, my book is shelved under general fiction, so that might be the case, although John Charles reviewed BBTA for the Chicago Trib and gave it a great review as a romance.

And thanks for the kind words, Mel ;)Maria Geracihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02296473703226019932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17003017.post-70404175527577294092010-03-31T11:02:42.763-04:002010-03-31T11:02:42.763-04:00I can honestly say you have not written the worst ...I can honestly say you have not written the worst book ever.

And Judith Weiner?
